Basketball Recap: Washington Picks Up Seventh Consecutive Win

Washington entered their tilt with Jasper on Tuesday with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 53-31 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Hatchets' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Wildcats are ranked 140th).

Washington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Katie Reed, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. The matchup was Reed's 11th in a row with at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shay Hawk, who went 5-for-11 on her way to 14 points and three steals.

Washington's victory bumped their record up to 9-2. As for Jasper, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Washington will head out to challenge Forest Park at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Jasper, they will venture away from home to take on Northeast Dubois at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
