Basketball Recap: Wauseon Comes Up Short

If Wauseon was riding high fresh off their 55-13 takedown of Swanton last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Indians fell 39-35 to the Evergreen Vikings on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 43-36 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2025.

Wauseon's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-5. As for Evergreen, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 8-6.

Coming up, Wauseon will welcome Pettisville at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Evergreen, they will venture away from home to face off against Hilltop at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
