Draughn extended their postseason success on Thursday against East Surry. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Cardinals 3-2. The Wildcats are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 11 straight.

Draughn found their leader in sophomore Ashlyn Heavner, who had eight digs and three aces. Heavner also set a new season-high mark in assists with 23.

Draughn was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 13 aces. That's the most aces they've posted in their last eight matches.

Draughn's win bumped their record up to 22-5. As for East Surry, their loss dropped their record down to 17-7.

Draughn has already played their next contest, a 3-1 victory against Union Academy on the 25th. East Surry does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
