Recap: Combs Coyotes vs. Eastmark Firebirds
The Combs Coyotes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 85-67 bruising from Eastmark. Combs has struggled against Eastmark recently, as their match on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Combs' loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kamren Dubose, who scored 20 points along with three steals. Johnathon Byaus was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 11 rebounds.
It was another big night for Timothy Gorham, who scored 32 points along with seven rebounds for Eastmark. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gorham has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alex Burns, who scored 19 points.
Combs' defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Eastmark, they pushed their record up to 11-6 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Combs will challenge Tempe at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Eastmark won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Arizona College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Arizona College Prep is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
