Shawnee Mission West is a perfect 7-0 against Lawrence since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Vikings are taking a road trip to challenge the Lions. Shawnee Mission West is looking for their season's first victory.

While losing is never fun, Shawnee Mission West can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas soccer rankings (they are ranked 78th, while Shawnee Mission South are ranked 17th).

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Lawrence was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They fell just short of Olathe West by a score of 2-1. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but Lawrence couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Ginny Besson, who's now up to three this season.

Shawnee Mission West's loss dropped their record down to 0-6-1. As for Lawrence, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-5.

Shawnee Mission West took their win against Lawrence in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 5-1 score. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Lions have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
