Baseball Recap: Simley Takes a Loss

Simley has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging four runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Wednesday. They fell 14-9 to the Hill-Murray Pioneers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pioneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 on April 9th.

Simley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Hill-Murray, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2-1 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Simley will square off against rival South St. Paul at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Hill-Murray is set to challenge their familiar foe Hastings at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
