Basketball Recap: Bryan Montemayor's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Chaparral over the Meadows School

Chaparral came up into this matchup off a tough 34-point defeat last Saturday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of The Meadows School Mustangs by a score of 68-66 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cowboys have suffered since January 25, 2024.

Several Cowboys players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bryan Montemayor, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 16 points. O?Bryan Fox was another key player, putting up 14 points and six rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Chaparral and nudges their season record down to 8-7. As for The Meadows School, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Chaparral didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 77-62 defeat against Shadow Ridge on the 6th. As for The Meadows School, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 53-46 loss against Boulder City on the 6th.
