Baseball Recap: Montville Comes Up Short

Montville lost against Delbarton back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Mustangs took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Green Wave. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Montville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Richie Mattina, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Montville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-11. As for Delbarton, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

Looking ahead, Montville will venture away from home to face off against Chatham at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Delbarton, they will host Middlesex at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Bluejays' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Green Wave's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
