Basketball Recap: Lorain Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

Lorain had won two straight home games and Samone Whitt did her part to make it three on Saturday. The Lorain Titans took down the Garfield Heights Bulldogs 53-35 thanks in part to Whitt, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten boards. She is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last six games she's played.

Danasia Dower was another key player, putting up nine points. Those nine points gave her a new career-high.

Lorain's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Garfield Heights, this is the second loss in a row for them and also nudges their season record down to 5-3.

When Lorain and Garfield Heights next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Lorain will try to stop Columbia's three-game winning streak when the meet at 12:30 p.m. on December 28th. Similarly, Garfield Heights will try to stop Warrensville Heights' seven-game winning streak when the meet at 12:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
