Baseball Recap: Whitney Young Finds Home Field Redemption Against Taft

There's no place like home for Whitney Young, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They never let the Taft Eagles get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Friday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Dolphins considering their two-run performance the game before.

Isaac Stoelinga was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Luke Yolich was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Whitney Young kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.

With the victory, Whitney Young broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-13. As for Taft, they moved to 14-12 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Whitney Young will venture away from home to take on Barrington at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Fillies/Broncos will aim to continue their five-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Taft, they will host Metea Valley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Eagles are facing the Mustangs at the right time seeing as the Mustangs are stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
