Football Recap: Jerry Prieto Jr and Denim Foster Secure Win for Dayton + How To Watch

Dayton took a 24-point defeat the last time they faced off against Nederland, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Broncos came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bulldogs on Friday, sneaking past 61-59. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Broncos have posted against the Bulldogs since September 2, 2016.

Dayton was led to victory by Denim Foster and Jerry Prieto Jr. Foster gained 272 total yards and four touchdowns, while Prieto Jr rushed for 54 yards and two touchdowns. Foster is also crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 108 every time he's taken the field this season.

Dayton didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Nathan Finn and Devorian Bradford. Finn also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with eight. Colton Havard was another major factor on D, making 21 total tackles (3.0 for loss).

Dayton's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Nederland, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Coming up, Dayton is taking a road trip to challenge Lake Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Broncos will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Nederland, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Fork at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
