Volleyball Recap: New Kent Trojans vs. Grafton Clippers
The home team had come away the winner the last four times New Kent and Grafton had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Trojans lost 3-0 to the Clippers on Tuesday. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Trojans haven't been shut out since back in September.
New Kent took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-17, 25-18.
Ava Nieto paced New Kent's offense, picking up six kills. Nieto got some help from Brielle Perry and her nine assists. Katelynn Moore controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.
Allyson Burke had a dynamite game For Grafton., getting 20 digs and three aces. Burke has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last 13 times she's played.
