Soccer Game Preview: Gregori vs. Downey

The Gregori Jaguars will take on the Downey Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Gregori gave up the first goal last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They had just enough and edged Enochs out 2-1.

Meanwhile, Downey hasn't lost a match since December 7, 2024, a trend which continued in their latest game on Thursday. They never let Modesto onto the board and left with a 4-0 victory. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by three goals or more this season.

They hit Modesto with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Cesar Bojorquez (2), Arturo Sarabia, and Jose Ramos.

Downey's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those five matchups. As for Gregori, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4-2 record this season.
