Softball Game Preview: Decatur Red Raiders vs. Meade County Green Waves

The Decatur Red Raiders will head out to square off against the Meade County Green Waves at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. Decatur is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Decatur came up short against Albertville and fell 14-11.

Mallie Hudson put in work no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Isabella Smith made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Josey Hendrix, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Meade County was a bit more limited in their match on Thursday. They lost 9-2 to Sparkman. The contest marked the Green Waves' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meade County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hannah Carter, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Decatur's record is now 2-19. As for Meade County, their record now sits at 5-2.
