Basketball Recap: Marceline Find Success

Marceline won the last time they faced Green City and things went their way on Thursday too. The Marceline Tigers narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Green City Gophers 45-43.

When it comes to explaining why Green City lost, don't look at Lily Crist. Despite the final result, she went 8 of 17 en route to 17 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Macy Jeffries, who posted 12 points.

The win got Marceline back to even at 2-2. As for Green City, they moved to 9-1 with that loss, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Marceline will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Westran at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. As for Green City, they will challenge Milan at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Green City is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.5 points per game this season.
