Varela had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They pulled ahead with a 13-12 photo finish over the Dr. Krop Lightning on Monday. Winning may never get old, but the Vipers sure are getting used to it with their eighth in a row.

Varela found their leader in freshman Angelyn Molina, who threw for 240 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.2% of her passes. Molina's passing game has become a key predictor of the Vipers' success: the team is undefeated when her passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 2-3 otherwise.
