Leigh waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They came out on top against the Leland Chargers by a score of 7-3. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Jacob Madonna looked comfortable as he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lance Takamura, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base was his first of the season. Michael Mogannam was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

Leigh kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Leigh pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Leland, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Leigh beat Leland by a score of 11-1 on Friday.
