Football Recap: Chaparral Skates Past Cherokee Trail with Ease + How To Watch

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Chaparral on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that they blew the Cherokee Trail Cougars out of the water with a 55-0 final score. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Wolverines' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado football rankings (they are ranked third, while the Cougars are ranked 39th).

Zoey Fink had an outrageously good game as she threw for 240 yards and seven TDs while completing 80.6% of her passes. That's the most passing yards she has posted since back in August of 2024.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Chaparral's defense and their six sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Molly McWilliams and Addison Brantley, who racked up all six sacks between them. McWilliams is on a roll when it comes to sacks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last four games she's played dating back to last season.

Chaparral has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 37.0 points this season. As for Cherokee Trail, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-2.

Chaparral didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 33-18 victory against ThunderRidge on the 2nd. As for Cherokee Trail, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 24-6 win against Aurora Central on the 4th.
