Basketball Recap: Deerfield Comes Up Short

Deerfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 44-27 bruising from the Syracuse Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Spartans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 302nd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 145th).

Deerfield's loss dropped their record down to 5-12. As for Syracuse, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Deerfield will host Pawnee Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Syracuse, they will be playing at home against Greeley County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
