Baseball Game Preview: Sherman Bearcats vs. Lovejoy Leopards

For the second straight game, Sherman will face off against Lovejoy. The Bearcats will venture away from home to take on the Leopards at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Sherman fell victim to Lovejoy and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They came up short against the Leopards, falling 6-0. The loss continues a trend for the Bearcats in their meetings with the Leopards: they've now lost seven in a row.

Sherman got a good showing from Adan Ortiz, who tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Ortiz has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.

Lovejoy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.1 runs over those games. As for Sherman, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-17-1.
