Basketball Recap: Hough Piles Up the Points Against Porter Ridge + How To Watch

Hough had to skate by with only a three-point margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the 33-point drubbing they dealt Porter Ridge on Tuesday. The Huskies breezed past the Pirates to the tune of 81-48. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Huskies' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 183rd, while the Pirates are ranked 440th).

Hough got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Tre Ratliff out in front who shot 50% from the field on his way to 24 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Thanks to that strong game, Ratliff now owns an excellent 45.1% shooting accuracy. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Byers, who went 8-for-13 en route to 20 points in addition to six boards and four steals.

Hough was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Porter Ridge lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jace McClain, who posted 13 points and seven rebounds. He also put up a block, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Colton Johnson, who shot 56% from the field to rack up 10 points and six boards.

The victory got Hough back to even at 2-2. As for Porter Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Hough has already played their next contest, a 76-31 win against Statesville on the 12th. As for Porter Ridge, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 72-59 defeat against Olympic on the 5th.
