Softball Recap: Pinelands Regional Beats Toms River North for Their Tenth Straight Victory

Pinelands Regional put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on the Toms River North Mariners with a sharp 10-4 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Wildcats also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2024.

Elianna Meola spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on 13 hits and racked up eight Ks. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

At the plate, Cassie Gould was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Madison Wilbert, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Pinelands Regional always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Pinelands Regional's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-0. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.9 runs over those games. As for Toms River North, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinelands Regional will take on New Egypt at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Toms River North, they will venture away from home to challenge Howell at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday.
