Baseball Recap: Elysian Fields Comes Up Short

Elysian Fields was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Ore City Rebels. The Yellowjackets were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rebels apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2022.

Evan White was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. White was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Three bases. while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases.

White wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Braedan Adkins, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Adkins also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Zane Childs was another, scoring a run and stealing Four bases. while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

Elysian Fields' loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Ore City, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

While Elysian Fields had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
