Baseball Recap: Stanhope Elmore Gets the Win

Stanhope Elmore posted their closest win since March 8th on Saturday. They skirted past the Pelham Panthers 5-3. This was a revenge game for the Mustangs: when they faced off against the Panthers two weeks ago, they had to take a 5-2 defeat.

Hayden Anderson was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Stallworth, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Stanhope Elmore's victory bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Pelham, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-9.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stanhope Elmore will venture away from home to challenge Percy Julian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pelham, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Pelham Panthers challenge Spain Park Jaguars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The last three games Spain Park has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
