It was a good run, but King's Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marlboro Academy Dragons. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Lucas Fields was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one triple. That triple was his first of the season.

King's Academy suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 8-2. As for Marlboro Academy, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-3.

While King's Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
