Baseball Recap: Mary G. Montgomery Comes Up Short

Mary G. Montgomery was the 10-1 winner over McGill-Toolen when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mary G. Montgomery Vikings took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McGill-Toolen Yellowjackets on Monday.

Mary G. Montgomery saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Fuller Musgrove, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Max Chisholm also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Mary G. Montgomery's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for McGill-Toolen, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.

Coming up, Mary G. Montgomery will head out to face off against Saraland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Mary G. Montgomery is facing Saraland at the right time seeing as Saraland is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for McGill-Toolen, they will challenge Cottage Hill Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cottage Hill Christian Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so McGill-Toolen's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
