Basketball Recap: Sheridan Takes a Loss

Sheridan and Greene County Tech squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Sheridan had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 66-34 loss at the hands of the Greene County Tech Golden Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Yellowjackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Golden Eagles are ranked third).

E'Marriha Johnson was her usual excellent self, shooting 67% from the field on her way to 20 points and eight rebounds for Greene County Tech. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 63% in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Ryan, who went 6-for-8 to rack up 17 points.

Sheridan's defeat dropped their record down to 19-11. As for Greene County Tech, the victory was the 22nd in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 29-2.

Sheridan does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Greene County Tech, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 42-34 win against Beebe on the 6th.
