Baseball Recap: Ocoee Takes a Loss

Ocoee had lost four straight at home, but on Monday they dropped down to 3-6 to make it five. They fell just short of the Apopka Blue Darters by a score of 3-1. Having soared to a lofty 12 runs in the game before, the Knights couldn't push the score so high this time.

Bobby Judd spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Ocoee saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Serico Allen, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

As for Apopka, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.2 runs over those games.

On Apopka's side, Tyler Spaid was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ocoee will challenge St. Cloud at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Apopka, they will square off against Wekiva at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
