Basketball Game Preview: Coahoma Bulldogs vs. Stanton Buffaloes

Coahoma and Stanton are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. The Coahoma Bulldogs will head out on the road to take on the Stanton Buffaloes at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Coahoma picked up another tournament win on Saturday. In a tight match that could have gone either way, they made off with a 41-40 win over Jayton. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while the Jaybirds are ranked 526th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Stanton waltzed into their game last Friday with 11 straight wins... but they left with 12. They took down the Tornadoes 45-27.

Stanton pushed their record up to 15-5 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. As for Coahoma, their record now sits at 15-4.

Coahoma came up short against Stanton in their previous meeting back in January of 2022, falling 47-39. Can Coahoma avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
