Basketball Recap: Chatham Homeschool's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Chatham HomeSchool had lost four straight headed into Tuesday's matchup, but Luke Coletta didn't let it get to five. The Thunder walked away with a 54-41 victory over the Grovemont Spartans on Tuesday with plenty of help from Coletta, who almost dropped a double-double with 26 points and nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Chatham HomeSchool's points.

Another player making a difference was Eli Cunningham, who posted seven boards, five steals, and three blocks. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game.

Chatham HomeSchool's win bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Grovemont, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chatham HomeSchool will challenge Forsyth Home Educators at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Thunder's defense better be ready for this one: the Hawks have averaged an impressive 51.1 points per game this season. As for Grovemont, they will face off against South Wake at 7:00 p.m. on the 11th.
