Soccer Game Preview: Withrow vs. Woodward

The Withrow Tigers will take on the Woodward Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Withrow took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against Spencer Center as they made off with a 6-1 win. Considering Withrow have won four contests by more than three goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Spencer Center with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Francois Kabumba (2), Jorge Pineda (2), Santiago Martinez, and Hoguers Perez-Tomas.

Meanwhile, Woodward kept a clean sheet against North College Hill on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 7-0 victory.

Withrow pushed their record up to 4-4-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those three matchups. As for Woodward, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-4-1.

Withrow skirted past Woodward 2-1 when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
