Ruidoso wins going away against Socorro

The Ruidoso Warriors had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They enjoyed a cozy 59-45 victory over Socorro. For Ruidoso, this counts as revenge for the 52-43 defeat Socorro walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.

Leading Ruidoso to victory were Patrick Kimbrell and Logan Sandoval. Kimbrell dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Sandoval scored 21 points along with 9 rebounds and 8 assists.

Ruidoso's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Socorro, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ruidoso will square off against West Las Vegas at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Socorro will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Laguna Acoma at 10:00 a.m. on December 14th.
