Baseball Game Preview: Randolph County Tigers vs. Weaver Bearcats

For the second straight game, Randolph County will face off against Weaver. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Randolph County Tigers duke it out with Weaver Bearcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Randolph County has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 11th.

Randolph County had taken Weaver down for three straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Tuesday. Randolph County took a 13-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of Weaver.

For Weaver's part, Tucker Michaels made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over 5.2 innings pitched. Michaels has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three).

In other batting news, Landon Free was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Weaver's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 5-14 when he doesn't). Hayden Hise was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Weaver always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Randolph County only posted an OBP of .353.

Randolph County's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Weaver, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-14.
