Recap: Moreno Valley Vikings vs. Orange Vista Coyotes

The Moreno Valley Vikings's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They lost to Orange Vista on the road by a decisive 59-40 margin. While losing is never fun, Moreno Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 758th, while Orange Vista is ranked 378th).

Eric Wooten continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Orange Vista, dropping a triple-double on 14 points, 11 rebounds, and ten blocks. Wooten hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for four straight games. Brandon Suttle was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five assists and two steals.

Moreno Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-14 record this season. As for Orange Vista, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-11.

As for Orange Vista, they will head out on the road to square off against Hemet at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. That game will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Juaquin Martinez and Henry Washington.
