Volleyball Recap: Holy Cross Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Holy Cross can now relate to. They fell just short of the East Hampton Bellringers by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. The Crusaders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Their offense was headlined by Quinn Barry and Mari Berardis, who picked up seven kills apiece. They got some help from Reese McGarrity and her 27 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Holy Cross' loss dropped their record down to 17-8. As for East Hampton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.

Holy Cross does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for East Hampton, they have already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Cromwell on the 7th.
