Recap: East Henderson Eagles vs. Enka Jets
After a string of three wins, the East Henderson Eagles's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell just short of Enka by a score of 58-55. East Henderson has struggled against Enka recently, as their match on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
East Henderson's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Joseph Justice, who scored 20 points along with 5 rebounds. Caiden Brewer was another key contributor, scoring 6 points along with 9 steals and 8 assists.
Sam Waddell was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds for Enka. The game was Waddell's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Hyatt Middleton, who scored 12 points.
East Henderson's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Enka, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Henderson will take on Chase at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chase will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 590th, while East Henderson is ranked 185th). As for Enka, they will head out on the road to face off against North Henderson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. North Henderson knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three contests -- so hopefully Enka likes a good challenge.
