Football Recap: Nordhoff Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Nordhoff can now relate to. They fell just short of the Buena Park Coyotes by a score of 42-40 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Rangers have suffered since August 22nd.

Nordhoff's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Dennie, who rushed for 131 yards and two scores on only six carries, and also threw for 137 yards on eight of 19 attempts. Another back making a difference was Desi Canfield, who gained 166 total yards and a touchdown.

Buena Park's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elias Sanchez, who rushed for 155 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries. Elias Chavez was another key player, rushing for 81 yards and two TDs.

Nordhoff's defeat dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Buena Park, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
