Baseball Recap: Firestone Comes Up Short

After flying high against Ellet on Tuesday, Firestone came back down to earth. The Falcons came up short against the Beachwood Bison on Wednesday, falling 10-3. If the Falcons were looking for revenge after losing 8-1 to the Bison when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Jason Chestnut made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and three runs. He has become a key player for Firestone: the team is 9-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jose Uzcategui, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Firestone's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Beachwood, their victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-7.

Coming up, Firestone will square off against Ellet at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Falcons are facing the Orangement at the right time seeing as the Orangement are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Beachwood, they will take on Hawken at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
