North Salinas lost to Marina back in February of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The North Salinas Vikings secured a 52-48 W over the Marina Mariners. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

North Salinas found their leader in sophomore Arjun Gakhal, who went 6 of 9 on his way to 12 points and six blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Joshua DeGroot, who posted eight points and nine rebounds.

North Salinas is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 6-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points per game. As for Marina, they now have a losing record at 5-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Salinas will venture away from home to square off against Oak Grove at 1:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Marina, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on North Monterey County at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
