Basketball Recap: Alexandria City Comes Up Short

Alexandria City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 82-39 loss at the hands of the Woodson Cavaliers. The Titans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-12.

Alexandria City's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kaiden Thompson, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tarik Sesay, who posted eight points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Woodson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kollin Morgan, who went 5 of 6 on his way to 10 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. That's the most blocks Morgan has posted since back in January of 2024. Parker Lau was another key player, as he made all 5 shots he took to post 11 points.

Alexandria City's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Woodson, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Alexandria City will venture away from home to challenge Robinson at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Woodson, they will welcome West Potomac at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Woodson's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
