Football Recap: Ludlow Falls Short of Newport in the Playoffs

Ludlow and Newport squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Ludlow had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 42-2 loss at the hands of the Wildcats. The game marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Damarco Jackson went supernova For Newport., picking up 111 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. What's more, Jackson posted two receiving touchdowns, the most he's had since back in August.

Ludlow has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season. As for Newport, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-4.

Ludlow does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Newport, they will face off against Holy Cross at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians' defense has only allowed six points per game this season, so the Wildcats' offense will have their work cut out for them.
