Recap: Graham Red Devils vs. Eastern Alamance Eagles
The Graham Red Devils suffered their biggest loss since December 8, 2023 on Monday. They took a serious blow against Eastern Alamance, falling 65-30. While losing is never fun, Graham can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 498th, while Eastern Alamance is ranked 225th).
Eastern Alamance's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Makayla Thompson led the charge by scoring ten points. Another player making a difference was Makayla Scott, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Graham has been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-12 record this season. As for Eastern Alamance, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-7.
Graham will head out on the road to challenge Bartlett Yancey at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bartlett Yancey is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. Eastern Alamance won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Person at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th.
