Softball Recap: 15 Straight Home Wins for Owyhee

Owyhee faced Eagle in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Storm put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 8-1 win. The Storm haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Hailey Brennan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up 13 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Owyhee let McKenna Schab and Caitlyn Geiser run wild. Schab went 2-for-4 with one home run and three runs, while Geiser went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most runs Schab has posted since back in March of 2024.

Owyhee's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-0. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 9.1 runs thus far. As for Eagle, they moved to 7-3 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Owyhee will square off against rival Centennial at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Eagle is set to take on their familiar foe Mountain View at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
