Softball Recap: Churchill Beats Reagan for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Churchill had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They walked away with a 6-3 win over the Reagan Rattlers. This was a revenge game for the Chargers: when they faced off against the Rattlers back in March, they had to take a 13-10 loss.

Sonia Gres spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Xiomara Sostre was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Claire Wasiak, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

The victory got Churchill back to even at 13-13-1. As for Reagan, they dropped their record down to 16-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Churchill has already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Johnson on the 16th. As for Reagan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 10-0 win against Clark on the 16th.
