Soccer Game Preview: New Summerfield vs. Carlisle

The New Summerfield Hornets will head out on the road to challenge the Carlisle Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Carlisle will be up against a hot New Summerfield team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. New Summerfield never let Atlanta onto the board and left with a 7-0 victory on Monday. The contest marked the Hornets' most dominant win of the season.

Meanwhile, Carlisle got the win against Pollok Central on Monday by a conclusive 6-0.

Carlisle's offense was hitting Pollok Central from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Roberto Camacho led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Carlisle's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-3-2. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those four games. As for New Summerfield, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3-3 record this season.

New Summerfield skirted past Carlisle 1-0 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Summerfield since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
