Volleyball Recap: Damonte Ranch Takes a Loss

Damonte Ranch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Carson Senators. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Senators this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-0 loss on September 11th.

Damonte Ranch started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-16, 25-20, 28-26.

Kylee Moscove paced Damonte Ranch's offense, picking up nine kills. Moscove got some help from Sofia Mladenovic and her ten assists. Finally, Alyssa Steelman-Belding kept Damonte Ranch's defense grounded, leading the team with four blocks.

Damonte Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Carson, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups. That somehow still isn't as good as their 19-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Damonte Ranch is set to square off against their familiar foe Douglas at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Carson will face off against rival Bishop Manogue at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
