Soccer Game Preview: Stony Point vs. Manor

The Stony Point Tigers will take on the Manor Mustangs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped with close wins against their previous opponents.

Stony Point gave up the first goal last Friday, but they didn't let that get them down. They beat Cedar Ridge by a goal, winning 2-1. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while the Raiders are ranked 462nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Ethan Zugsay and Maddox Hochevar scored both of Stony Point's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Manor, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Round Rock a 1-0 shutout on Friday.

Manor pushed their record up to 6-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those five contests. As for Stony Point, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2-1 and their overall record up to 4-4-1.
