Baseball Recap: Colin Hood's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Catonsville over Dulaney

Dulaney hit Catonsville with a five-run first inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Comets might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-4 to the Lions, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lions this season, with their most recent loss being a 10-4 defeat on Saturday.

Brayden Bates put in work while hitting and pitching. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Those two hits allowed gave him a new career-low. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Bates wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Colin Hood, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Catonsville has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season. As for Dulaney, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-6-1.

Catonsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dulaney, they have already played their next match, an 8-1 win against Towson on the 13th.
