Basketball Game Preview: Valley Christian Trojans vs. Coolidge Bears

The Valley Christian Trojans will face off against the Coolidge Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Valley Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 21 matches -- so hopefully Coolidge likes a good challenge.

Last Saturday, everything went Valley Christian's way against Gilbert Christian as Valley Christian made off with a 76-52 win. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 games by 22 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Coolidge unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 63-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pusch Ridge Christian Academy.

Valley Christian will have to contain Preston Dees as he made an impact in Coolidge's last game. He dropped a double-double on 19 points and 13 boards. Dees' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jensen Carter, who posted eight points.

Even though they lost, Coolidge smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in six consecutive contests.

Valley Christian's victory was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 18-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 31.3 points. As for Coolidge, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-6.

Everything came up roses for Valley Christian against Coolidge when the teams last played two weeks ago, as the squad secured an 84-36 win. Does Valley Christian have another victory up their sleeve, or will Coolidge turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
