Basketball Game Preview: Dooly County Bobcats vs. Wilkinson County Warriors

Dooly County hasn't had much luck against Wilkinson County recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Dooly County Bobcats will venture away from home to square off against the Wilkinson County Warriors at 7:30 p.m.

Dooly County is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Saturday. They had to suffer through a 84-39 loss at the hands of Hawkinsville. The Bobcats were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 54-24.

Despite the loss, Dooly County had strong showings from Sean Sallette, who posted 20 points, and Jamonte Taylor, who scored six points along with six boards and five assists.

Even though they lost, Dooly County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Hawkinsville only pulled down three offensive rebounds.

Meanwhile, Wilkinson County had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.7 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Tuesday. They blew past the Panthers, posting a 97-19 victory. The Warriors' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Wilkinson County's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.4 points per game. As for Dooly County, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.

Things could have been worse for Dooly County, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-42 loss to Wilkinson County when the teams last played back in December of 2024. Can Dooly County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
